ABOUT ABOUT
A LIVING MUSEUM TO A JAZZ LEGEND IN THE HEART OF QUEENS

During Openhousenewyork, you are invited to tour the Louis Armstrong House Museum. A reservation is required to receive your complimentary guided tour.

In 1943, Louis Armstrong, the world's most famous jazz musician, and his wife Lucille settled in a modest brick house in Corona, Queens, where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Today, the house is a National Historic and New York City Landmark. The rooms and furnishing remain much the same today , and the museum now stands a a memorial to the greatest jazz musician ever. During the tour, audio clips from Louis's home-recorded tapes are played and visitors hear Louis practicing his trumpet, enjoying a meal, or talking with his friends. An Armstrong exhibit, Museum Store, and Japanese-inspired garden are also open to OHNY visitors.
